Neil Brown
The artist behind this creationIt was helping in his father’s jewellery factory more than 40 years ago that first led Neil to carving. He was entranced by the luminous pounamu he discovered there, sparking a lifelong obsession with the stone. Traditional Māori carving and the natural world heavily influence his designs, though always with a contemporary twist. “I’m always looking to do things better, so my work is always evolving,” Neil says.
Symbolising the bond between two people, connecting the lives of friends, family or loved ones.
The Twist
The Twist is thought to represent two people's life path. Like the continuous shape of the pikorua, life for both individuals will continue despite many unexpected twists and turns, inevitably bringing them together again one day.
