Artist Profile
Rākai Jade is a collaborative group of talented artists based out of Rotorua, New Zealand. Started by renowned jade carver, Lewis Gardiner, the collective consists of a variety of talented young artists who come to him for his guidance and to contribute their own creative designs to the cause. They pride themselves on pushing the boundaries of traditional Māori design, producing pieces that reach a high level of artistic excellence. They work to convey traditional and cultural Māori ideals through contemporary design and craftsmanship.
